Excerpt on Love and Forgiveness
From Chapter 59

"Love and Forgiveness is of God and is very much Real when we use it like God does."

The people behind bars are the same as the people out here. They are young and old, they are educated and uneducated, rich and poor, Christians and non-Christians. They are where they are, behind bars, because they are missing something and don't know what it is, and it was missing way before going to prison. What they are missing they already have, but they don't know it. It is love, I mean real love; they do not know what love is. They do not know what the truth is. People everywhere feel the same way the man in prison does: they are not loved. But nobody will speak up.

People ask me, “Don, what did you have to go to prison for?” I tell them the truth, the truth as I know it, to learn what Love and Forgiveness is and they say, “You didn't know what Love and Forgiveness was?” I say, “No, I didn't,” and it only takes a few minutes and I find out they don't know what it is either.

When I found out it was love and forgiveness that I was missing and that this was within me, I found the keys that would make me a new man. I learned that if I want to be forgiven, I have to forgive. I find that there are very few people anywhere that practice forgiveness, true forgiveness.

Forgiveness has changed my life. It has given me life, life that I never knew. And there is power in un-forgiveness, what it does to a person to not forgive. It doesn't matter what you don't forgive or whom you don't forgive, if it is yourself or somebody else; it only destroys you. If you forgive one and not another, that is man's forgiveness. God means for us to forgive all! Not just some. It is the same with love. If I cannot love my brother, then how could I love God? How could I love God and not love my brother? I know today that if there is one whom I do not love, then I need to look at myself.
